The
Magill Hall of Science, part of the science courtyard, was completed in
1958 and named after Dr. Arthur Clay Magill, the University’s long-time
professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Science Department. Besides
several classrooms, experimental labs, and computer labs, Magill also has many
special features that enable students to gain experience and to succeed in their
area of study. An example of this is the Math Center, where students can
get help with math classes and homework. Magill also has a seismograph,
which tracks the severity of earthquakes. Most chemistry and biology
classes are held in Magill.
