Alpha Chi Omega collegians and alumnae alike show their support to many organizations both locally and nationally. At Alpha Chi Omega's 1992 National Convention, delegates voted to adopt the Support of Victims of Domestic Violence as a national altruistic project. Through educational activities and local support, Alpha Chi Omega continues to work toward the elimination of domestic violence. Highway cleanup – Monthly Alpha Chi does its part to keep Kingshighway clean in Cape Girardeau.
The month of October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Alpha Chi Omega
participates in different community service activities each week,
including chalking the campus sidewalks with educational facts about
domestic violence, collecting old cell phones, and delivering
information cards about domestic abuse to area stores. We also host a
candlelight vigil to honor those who have been hurt by domestic violence.
