Who is my advisor?
Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree are assigned to the Academic Advising Center until all admission requirements to the College have been met. Students are assigned to a faculty advisor in the department of their major upon admission to the College. A letter is mailed to students upon admission to the College with the name, office location, and telephone number of the faculty advisor. Students who do not remember the name of their advisor may check with the Advising Center or look up advisor information at http://portal.semo.edu.

What is a Degree Audit Report (DAR)?
A detailed degree audit report shows all degree requirements and tracks progress towards meeting those requirements. Advisors use the detailed degree audit report to recommend courses for the upcoming semester.  It is also the responsibility of the student to understand the degree audit report and track their progress towards meeting graduation requirements.

Degree Audit Reports (DARs) can be requested, viewed, and printed at http://portal.semo.edu.

What are the admission requirements to the College?
Completion of all lower level core and support courses (SC105, AD101, EN140, MG252, BL255, AC221, AC222, EC215, EC225, MA134, MA139 or MA140, and QM257) with a 'C' or better, a minimum 2.25 overall GPA, and completion of 60 hours.

Do I have to apply for admission to the College?
No. The Academic Advising Center evaluates student records upon completion of 60 hours and notifies admitted students by mail. The letter sent includes the name, telephone number, and room location of the new faculty advisor.

When can I enroll in classes for the next semester?
Priority registration for the spring semester begins in early November. Registration for summer begins in February and in April for the fall semester. Students must have their alternate pin number to be able to enroll on their priority registration date. Students should check for holds on their account through the portal prior to their registration date, as holds such as those by Student Financial Services can prevent schedule changes or enrollment..

How do I get my alternate pin number?
The alternate pin number is provided during the advising appointment.  Students assigned to the Academic Advising Center who have completed 30 degree hours or more with a minimum 2.25 overall grade point average and have previously met with an advisor in the Academic Advising Center may submit a request for web advising in lieu of an advising appointment.

When should I schedule an advising appointment?
Contact the Advising Center in early February for an advising appointment for summer and/or fall registration. Advising for the spring semester begins in early September.

How do I enroll for classes?
Enrollment may be done through the portal at http://portal.semo.edu on or after your priority registration date as long as you have obtained your alternate pin number from your assigned advisor.  Questions regarding enrollment can be directed to the Office of the Registrar in Academic Hall 129 or (573) 651.2299.  Enrollment instructions and priority enrollment dates are available at http://www2.semo.edu/registrar/enrollmentinformation.htm.

What are the Career Linkages (CL001-CL004) requirements?
Career Linkages are 0 credit hours and are graduation requirements for students who started at, or returned to, Southeast in fall 2005 or later.

What is the California Critical Thinking Skills Test (CCTST)?
The CCTST is a graduation requirement for any bachelor's degree at Southeast that must be completed by all students after completion of 75 hours or more.  The CCTST is 0 credit hours and students register through Testing Services
Click here for additional information.  NOTE:  The CCTST will not be offered after fall 2009, as the Measure of Academic Proficiency and Progress (MAPP) exit exam will replace the CCTST effective January 2010.  Please note all students (who have not completed the CCTST) must complete the MAPP exit exam during their last semester at Southeast.

What is the WP003 75 Hour Writing Proficiency?
The WP003 is a graduation requirement for any bachelor's degree at Southeast.  The exam is 0 credit hours.  Students must pass the WP003 for graduation.  Students enroll in WP003 through the enrollment system after completion of 75 hours and EN140.  The exam is offered two times during the fall and spring semesters and once in the summer.
