Online Degree Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Degree Organizational Administration Major Current Students: Advising/enrollment information for spring 2010 is available at http://online.semo.edu/businessadvising. The Harrison College of Business at Southeast is pleased to
offer the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with a major in
Organizational Administration as an online degree. Please note this is the
only undergraduate business major available as an online degree at Southeast.
The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with a Major in Organizational Administration includes the following course requirements: university studies, core/support courses, and major courses. Purpose Organizational Administration
is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the business
process. Individuals completing the
major in Organizational Administration will be prepared for positions that
require a sound grasp of management and marketing principles, an appreciation
for the economic environment of business, the ability to understand and use
accounting and financial information and skills in teamwork, leadership and
professional presentations. The BSBA
degree is accredited by the AACSB-International. Career Opportunities Individuals completing this major are prepared for the diverse set of management trainee positions associated with large regional and national firms, retail management positions with major retailers, positions as an account representative and customer service representative, entry positions in financial services such as banking and investment services, field service positions, production and manufacturing management positions, and manager development programs associated with regional and national franchises. These are only examples of possible career opportunities, and individuals completing the organizational administration major should not feel constrained in the opportunities they have for rewarding business careers. Furthermore, non-profit organizations are providing an increasing number of challenging and rewarding management/leadership opportunities for those with a background in business studies. An individual completing the organizational administration major has the background to be an effective manager in the not-for-profit sector, including health and community services.
Admission to Southeast Students must be admitted to Students must make progress towards admission to the Harrison College of Business to be eligible to continue in business courses. Admission requirements to HCB include completion of 60 hours, a minimum 2.25 cumulative grade point average, and completion of all the 100-200 level core/support courses with a grade of ‘C’ or better including SC105, EN140, MG252, BL255, AD101, MA134, MA139, QM257, EC215, EC225, AC221, and AC222. Admission into the online program or the Harrison College of Business does not guarantee completion of the BSBA degree, as students must complete all degree requirements for graduation. An advising appointment is required each semester prior to enrollment. Advising for summer/fall begin in early
February. Spring advising begins in
early September. Students admitted into the online
organizational administration major are eligible for e-mail advising. |
