University Studies

University Studies is a component of all bachelor’s degrees at Southeast.  The theme of the University Studies program is Understanding and Enhancing the Human Experience. The University Studies program consists of 51 hours.

  • First Year Introductory Course - UI100*
  • EN100 Composition Course
  • Artistic Expression
  • Literary Expression
  • Oral Expression   (SC105 is required for all BSBA majors)
  • Written Expression  (EN140 is required for all BSBA majors)
  • Behavioral Systems
  • Living Systems
  • Logical Systems (MA134 is required for all BSBA majors)
  • Physical Systems
  • Development of a Major Civilization
  • Economic Systems (EC215 is required for all BSBA majors)
  • Political Systems
  • Social System
  • Interdisciplinary Curriculum (two IU or UI3XXs)**
  • Senior Seminar (UI400 is required for all BSBA majors)

* UI100 is waived by the Office of the Registrar for transfer students who have completed 24 or more degree credit hours at another college after graduating high school.

**Administrative Systems Management, Economics, and International Business majors should refer to the degree audit report for specific UI3XXs that will also apply towards major requirements.
