Purpose
& Goals
Southeast Missouri
State University is committed to student learning and success.
In order to create a safe, supportive and healthy social environment
where all students can achieve their academic and personal goals, we will
establish a health initiative aimed at reducing “at risk drinking” and its
associated negative consequences by changing cultural norms, policies, and
practices within the Southeast Missouri State University community.
The goals of the coalition are listed below.
-
To create safe,
supportive and healthy environments within the campus and community.
-
To identify the norms,
attitudes, and issues associated with high risk drinking at Southeast.
-
To identify, discuss and
design interventions to positively impact the norms, attitudes, policies and
practices that affect high risk drinking.
-
To implement media
advocacy campaigns designed to educate and eventually change high-risk
behaviors of students.
