Each accused student has the right to appeal
sanctions. A student referral agent may appeal a hearing
decision if he/she is a party to the complaint and not
representing the University in the case. Appeals may be made on
the following grounds:
1) Substantial procedural error regarding the
student's right during a hearing;
2) Significant new information relative to the
case that was not available through diligence at the hearing;
and,
3) An excessive sanction when compared with
previous sanctions for similar violations under similar
circumstances.
A written request on an appeal form must be
received in the Office of the Dean of Students by 4:00 p.m. of
the fifth school day from the announcement of the judicial
decision. A complete statement of the appeal process is
available in the Office of Student Conduct.
