Student Development's
Mission
The area of Student
Development promotes the holistic education of students and provides
leadership in making Southeast a truly student-centered institution.
The departments within the unit provide direct intervention with
students as well as consultation with faculty and staff colleagues
to promote the intellectual, ethical/moral, social, and career
development of students. Our primary goal is to help students
acquire the skills necessary to act responsibly and succeed in their
educational pursuits on campus, ultimately becoming productive
members of the Southeast community and the larger, ever-changing
global society.
Student Issues and Advocacy
The Dean of Students is officially charged
with ensuring that the rights of students are protected and general
student complaints are usually handled by this office. The
Dean assists students with concerns affecting their experience at
Southeast and often consults with faculty or staff in resolving
student concerns.
