Mission Statement

The mission of the dietetic internship is to provide a high quality post-baccalaureate program that prepares competent entry-level dietitians to possess both the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the health and nutrition needs for the residents of southeast Missouri and of the greater Midwest region.

Goals Of The Program

• The dietetic internship will provide a supervised practice experience that will meet the Standards of Education put forth by the American Dietetic Association's Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.
• The dietetic internship will prepare graduates to meet the requirements for dietetic registration.
• The dietetic internship will provide opportunities for the training of Registered Dietitians that will impact the health and nutrition needs of residents within the program's geographic location.
• The dietetic internship will develop and promote the role of the dietetics profession throughout the service region.
• The dietetic internship will encourage and promote self-assessment and lifelong learning for dietetic interns.
