Goal #1: The dietetic internship will provide for a supervised practice
experience that will meet the Standards of Education put forth by the American Dietetic Association's
Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.
Outcome Measures
- Graduates will indicate that the competencies have been met with a mean score equal to or higher than 2.
- Employers will indicate that graduates have achieved the competencies with a mean score equal to or higher than 2.
- A minimum score of 3 will be earned by each intern on the final evaluation by preceptors.
- A minimum score of 80% will be earned by each intern on all work and exams completed in the program.
- 90% of students who enroll in the program will complete the program.
Goal #2: The dietetic internship will prepare graduates to meet the
requirements for dietetic registration.
Outcome Measures
- The first time pass rate for the RD exam will be 80% over 5 years.
- 100% of graduates who seek employment in the field will be employed within 12 months of graduation.
- Each site evaluated by the intern will receive a mean score equal to or higher than 3.
- The annual evaluation of the internship by preceptors will result in a mean score equal to or higher than 3.
- The annual intern evaluation of the internship will result in a mean score equal to or higher than 3.
Goal #3: The dietetic internship will provide opportunities for the training of
Registered Dietitians that will impact the quality of life for residents within the program's geographic location.
Outcome Measures
- The program will maintain the current level or increase the number of supervised practice sites within a 200
mile radius of the university.
- 50% of program graduates will be employed in positions within a 200 mile radius of the program.
- 50% of program graduates will be active in local dietetic associations within a 200 mile radius of the university.
Goal #4: The dietetic internship will develop and promote the role of the
dietetics profession throughout the service region.
Outcome Measures
- A minimum score of 80% will be received on each of the following assignments.
- Presentation of program to local dietetic association
- Presentation of 2 case studies to preceptors and DPD students at the university
- Community education program or project
- 50% of program graduates will be employed in positions within a 200 mile radius of the program.
- 50% of program graduates will be active in local dietetic associations within a 200 mile radius of the university.
Goal #5: The dietetic internship will encourage and promote self-assessment
and lifelong learning for dietetic interns.
Outcome Measures
- Intern portfolios will document attendance at one professional meeting and participation in one professional
education opportunity during the internship
- 80% of graduates will report
- having a plan in place for maintaining continuing education requirements
- active participation in the local dietetic association
- attendance at one continuing education meeting during the year after graduation
- 20% of grads will report continuing education at SEMO to complete a Master's Degree
