English degree centers on writing and literature. Those

writing, practical and professional written communication,

World, British, and American prose, poetry, and drama.
An English major with a
Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education must complete
requirements within the departments of English and Middle and
Secondary Education, as well as electives. The
department's strong program in secondary education offers

available for those preparing to teach English are courses in
techniques of teaching English and the scientific study of the
nature of language.
